Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) - Perioperative Services in Templeton, California, United States. Start date: 06/22/2026. Responsibilities
- Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in the perioperative setting.
- Assist under the direction of the primary operating surgeon in perioperative care for patients undergoing surgery; apply sterile technique and maintain sterile fields.
- Coordinate, manage, provide, and delegate patient care, ensuring alignment with established nursing standards and facility policies.
- Document nursing care and patient responses, communicate effectively with anesthesia, surgical team, and postoperative caregivers, and promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate leadership and professionalism in the execution of RNFA duties, and uphold the Tenet Standards of Conduct and perioperative service guidelines.

Requirements
- Current, active RN license in California (unencumbered).
- RNFA certification or eligibility preferred; demonstrate ability to perform RNFA duties under surgeon supervision.
- Perioperative nursing experience; proven ability to work in a surgical environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Nursing degree from an accredited program (exact degree level and prerequisites to meet licensure requirements).
- Ability to work 4x10-hour day shifts in a travel assignment and to travel to the assignment location for the duration of the contract.
- Strong clinical judgment, patient advocacy, and commitment to perioperative patient safety.
