Maintenance Technician A

At LVD, we are looking for a skilledMaintenance Technician Ato support the maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery, equipment, and facility systems within our manufacturing environment. In this hands-on role, you will play a critical part in maximizing equipment reliability, supporting production efficiency, and maintaining a safe and well-functioning facility. Your responsibilities As a Maintenance Technician A, you will: Perform maintenance, repair, installation, and relocation of industrial machinery, machine tools, plumbing systems, heating equipment, and facility infrastructure. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motors, conductors, starters, lighting systems, and power connections, while adhering to all safety standards and procedures. Use measuring and testing equipment to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, specifications, and work instructions to effectively plan and execute maintenance activities. Diagnose equipment failures, dismantle machinery, identify root causes, replace defective components, and restore equipment to operational condition. Set up and operate manual machine tools and equipment to manufacture or modify replacement parts as needed. Perform precision fitting, alignment, leveling, bearing installation, shaft repairs, spindle work, and equipment adjustments. Prepare machine foundations and assist with machine installation, positioning, alignment, and commissioning. Carry out general maintenance activities including plumbing, pipe fitting, carpentry, masonry, and building repairs. Support maintenance projects and provide guidance or instruction to colleagues when required. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in accordance with company procedures. Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Proactively identify equipment issues, report abnormalities, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Respond to emergency breakdowns and assist in minimizing production downtime. Skills High level of precision and strong attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Experience repairing and maintaining industrial machinery and production equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and maintenance tools. Understanding of machine alignment, tolerances, gearing, and mechanical adjustments. Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and maintenance record management. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree, certificate, or apprenticeship in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred. Proven experience in industrial maintenance and equipment repair. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Experience working with precision tools and diagnostic equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg). Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks within an industrial environment. Availability to work occasional overtime and respond to equipment breakdowns when required.
