Facilities Manager

Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in Cedar Rapids, Iowa .


Overview


The facilities manager is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of the assigned site, ensuring high-quality facilities services, maintaining safety standards, and managing team and vendor relationships in a professional office and manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities

• Work in conjunction with the regional facilities manager to develop and execute the overall vision for the facilities team.
• Assist in the strategic direction for operations and maintenance, aligning with client goals.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed and contribute to training programs to enhance team capabilities.
• Oversee site operations to maintain and improve the value of the client's properties.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure quality standards are met and monitor preventive maintenance programs.
• Drive continuous improvement in site performance.
• Manage third-party contractors and vendors engaged in property operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate with sourcing and finance teams on bidding, contracting, and budget management.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and ensure compliance with audit standards.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with client representatives and internal teams.
• Act as a leader, fostering safety, teamwork, and performance enhancement.
• Conduct performance reviews, promote employee development, and support diversity and inclusivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of five to eight years of facilities management experience.
• Strong technical background in industrial settings.
• Experience managing facilities teams and 24/7 operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent client relationship management skills.
• Organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with CMMS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative management style.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing facilities in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Technical knowledge of building systems and components.
• Hands-on experience with facilities equipment and minor technical tasks.

This is a day shift position, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel to Missouri sites required. No remote work opportunities are available for this role.
