Job Title

Registered Nurse – CVICU

Location

Falls Church, VA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Onsite | Every other weekend required; holiday rotation including one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a dedicated Cardiovascular ICU setting with a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; read and interpret EKG rhythm strips
• Operate and monitor advanced cardiac therapy modalities including VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, TTM/Arctic Sun, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy
• Care for complex cardiac patient populations including post-op CABG, heart and lung transplant, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia, post IR/PCI procedures, and TEVAR
• Float as needed between CICU and CVICU, as well as to other ICU, stepdown, progressive care, IMC, and telemetry units within the facility
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent, dedicated Cardiac ICU, CCU, or CVICU experience
• Demonstrated competency with advanced cardiac therapy modalities: VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, TTM/Arctic Sun, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy
• Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips and manage vasoactive and cardiac drip titration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for heart and lung transplant patients and cardiogenic shock management
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Experience floating to stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry units
