Product Owner

We are seeking an experienced Agile Product Owner with expertise in Banking and Financial Services, including AML, Fraud, Investment Management, or Capital Markets. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and Agile teams to define, prioritize, and deliver high-impact solutions. Candidates should have hands‑on experience in Agile/SAFe environments, strong backlog management and business analysis skills, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements. Candidates must be located in or willing to work from San Antonio, TX or Plano, TX . Role & Responsibilities Serve as the Product Owner for Banking, Financial Services, AML, and Capital Markets initiatives, managing and prioritizing the product backlog. Translate business requirements into clear user stories, features, and acceptance criteria for Agile teams. Collaborate with stakeholders to define product vision, roadmap, and feature priorities. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for banking operations, regulatory requirements, AML, and fraud‑related processes. Partner with Scrum Masters, Developers, QA teams, and Architects to deliver high‑quality solutions. Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements clarification sessions. Support AML and fraud detection initiatives through business analysis, rules assessment, and compliance‑driven changes. Perform data mapping, impact analysis, validation activities, and data quality reviews. Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and ensure business requirements are successfully implemented. Communicate project status, risks, recommendations, and key business insights to stakeholders and leadership teams. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Product Management, or related roles. Strong domain expertise in Banking, Financial Services, Retail Banking, Consumer Banking, or Capital Markets. Hands‑on experience working as a Product Owner within Agile or SAFe Agile environments. Experience managing product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature prioritization. Strong understanding of banking business processes, operational workflows, and regulatory requirements. Experience with Jira and Agile project management tools. Knowledge of AML concepts, fraud detection processes, and compliance frameworks. Experience conducting business analysis, requirements gathering, process documentation, and impact assessments. Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation, and production implementation activities. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Desired Qualifications Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), or similar Agile certifications. Experience with AML, Fraud Management, Financial Crime, or Regulatory Compliance platforms. Knowledge of payments, ACH processing, wire transfers, card transactions, and banking operations. Experience supporting Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Wealth Management, or Financial Services platforms. Strong data analysis, reporting, and data quality management skills. Familiarity with SQL and data analysis tools. Experience leading regulatory, compliance, or business transformation initiatives. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive business‑focused solutions. Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive with strong leadership capabilities. Ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives and deliver measurable business outcomes.
