About the Role
As a Financial Representative, you'll help individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals through personalized insurance solutions and financial planning. You'll build long-term client relationships, understand each client's unique needs, and provide tailored financial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand their financial goals, aspirations, and concerns
• Develop comprehensive financial plans covering investments, insurance, and retirement
• Recommend and implement insurance strategies to protect clients' assets and income
• Monitor clients' financial plans and adjust strategies as circumstances change
• Build and maintain a client network through referrals, community involvement, and professional associations

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
• Previous experience in financial services, insurance, or business development is beneficial but not required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
• Willingness to obtain required licenses, including Series 6, 63, and state insurance licenses — training and sponsorship available

Nii Sowah — Managing Director with Northwestern Mutual for nearly 12 years, Nii began as an Associate Financial Representative and advanced through multiple development roles, including Internship Development Officer. A certified coach with a CLF designation, he's focused on developing others and driving district growth. Outside of work, Nii lives in Buffalo with his wife and two children, supports Buffalo sports teams, and co-founded the nonprofit Unite by Night.

Ben Ross — Wealth Management Advisor / Growth Development Director with Northwestern Mutual for 13 years, Ben started his career as an advisor in 2012 after a background in retail sales and management with Verizon. He's active in the community through The Ride for Roswell and an annual Women in STEM scholarship. Ben and his wife are raising three daughters, and together they enjoy biking, traveling, and trips to Disney, the beach, and the Adirondacks.

John M. Bongiovanni, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, RICP® — Private Wealth Advisor with Northwestern Mutual for 38 years, John now advises more than 500 clients across 20 states and leads Generational Wealth Management, an ensemble firm he grew after welcoming two partners in 2021. He's been recognized as a Top 50 Advisor in the Eastern region and a Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor. Outside of work, John lives in Erie, PA, and enjoys skiing, golfing, and time with his family at the St. Lawrence River.
