Job Title

Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Neuro Tele)

Contract | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Neuro Telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with diagnoses including CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, brain tumors, and trached patients
• Monitor and interpret EKGs via central telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias
• Titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin
• Perform and maintain competency in sterile field procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (assessed via SIMs Lab on Day 1 of orientation — pass/fail)
• Deliver bedside report and collaborate with interdisciplinary team including SWAT RN IV support, Respiratory Therapy (24/7), and Pharmacy (24/7)
• Float as needed to MS/Tele units and potentially to other affiliated campuses

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 18 months of Telemetry experience
• Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Must demonstrate competency in sterile field technique; SIMs Lab (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is pass/fail on Day 1 of orientation
• Must be able to titrate drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license is used as source of truth
• Must have personal reliable transportation
• Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week period (Saturday and Sunday)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Neuro nursing experience highly preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Experience with trached patients and complex neurological diagnoses
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are welcome to apply)
