Experienced Providers Preferred – Minimum of 1 year of APP experience preferred Collaborative Team Environment – Work alongside experienced APPs and supervising physicians with strong clinical support. No Call Responsibilities Structured Onboarding & Mentorship – Comprehensive orientation led by experienced APP leadership, including organized training schedules, PEP visits, learning modules, and peer mentorship. The Advanced Practice Provider offers medical care based on the supervising physician's scope of practice, typically caring for patients in an urgent or convenient care clinic. Essential Functions of the Role Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing comprehensive or problem‑focused physical examinations and medical histories. Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs. Prescribes or recommends medical drug therapies or other therapeutic treatments, performs procedures following approved policies, focusing on efficacy, safety, and cost, and recommends interventions to change behavior linked to health risks. Formulates and implements comprehensive patient treatment plans based on assessments, using evidence‑based medicine, standards of care, and guidelines. Collaborates with physicians and team members when appropriate and evaluates patient response to care. Counsels patients and families on medical processes, illness management, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Maintains appropriate records detailing patient treatment plans and outcomes, initiating timely consultation and referral when necessary. Provides consultation‑level services for conditions/problems related to the provider’s specialty and training. Performs invasive procedures specific to scope of practice and level of expertise as delegated by the supervising physician. May be required to perform patient care duties beyond the regular schedule based on coverage needs of the department. Key Success Factors Knowledge of diagnosing and treating human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties, interactions, and preventive health‑care measures. Proficiency in practices, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills and critical thinking for complex problem solving. Proficiency in computers and related software applications. Ability to develop and implement comprehensive outcomes‑based patient treatment plans. Ability to counsel patients concerning medical and psychological conditions, treatment plans, and behavior modification. Ability to interpret and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests. Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
