Director Of Safety And Risk ManagementWe're looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of Safety and Risk Management to lead enterprise-wide risk, insurance, and safety training programs for our organization. This is a high-visibility leadership role overseeing Safety, Security, Claims, Cyber Risk, Insurance, and Training functions - with direct influence on how we protect our people, our assets, and our reputation.If you're a risk management professional who also understands the operational realities of safety and training, and you want a seat at the leadership table where your work directly shapes company strategy, we want to talk to you.What You'll Do:Develop and lead enterprise-wide risk management and safety programs that protect the company's reputation, safety, security, and financial stabilityConduct risk assessments across our fleet, operations, facilities, and insurance programs to identify vulnerabilities and close gapsManage our insurance programs end to end — policy renewals, coverage evaluation, premium negotiations, and proposals to executive leadershipDirect and oversee the Safety, Security, Claims, Cyber Risk, Insurance, and Training departmentsServe as the primary liaison to attorneys, insurance brokers, insurers, third-party administrators, and regulatorsOversee insurance claims handling, including investigations, negotiations, and settlementsSet the company-wide safety training strategy, ensuring programs align with business goals and regulatory requirementsGuide and support the Safety Training and Development Manager and training staff on curriculum, delivery, and program effectivenessAnalyze claims, accident, and risk data to identify trends and drive continuous improvementPresent risk and safety strategy, reports, and proposals to executive and senior leadershipIdentify cost-saving opportunities across insurance, risk, and safety programsWhat You Bring (Required):Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Safety, or a related fieldAt least 6 years of experience in program/risk managementAt least 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience5+ years of corporate risk management and/or insurance industry experienceStrong understanding of risk management and safety best practices, and the legal and regulatory landscape around organizational liability and insuranceExcellent analytical, communication, and leadership skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePointPreferred Qualifications:Insurance broker experienceExperience with large, complex property & casualty insurance programs (fronted programs, alternative risk programs, captive or structured insurance)RMIS system experience (Origami, Riskonnect, Ventiv/RiskConsole, or similar)Industry designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AICExperience overseeing defensive driving or fleet safety training programsBilingual in English and SpanishWhat Makes This Role Different:True enterprise scope - direct oversight of Safety, Security, Claims, Cyber Risk, Insurance, and TrainingA seat at the leadership table, presenting strategy and results directly to executive leadershipThe chance to shape both the risk/insurance side of the business and the human side - how employees are trained and kept safe every dayA company that takes safety and risk seriously enough to invest in a director-level leader for it
