Vascular Sonographer

Job Title: Vascular Sonographer Job Type: Fulltime, Nonexempt How You'll Contribute Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable. Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities. Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area. Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth. Checks the physician's requisition for complete information on the procedure requested and refers any questions to the ultrasound physician before performing the procedure. Assists the radiologist/referring physician in invasive procedures using sterile technique while maintaining infection control guidelines. Recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the monitor and is able to differentiate artifacts from anatomic/pathologic structures within equipment limitations. Possesses an in-depth knowledge of anatomy/physiology, technical expertise and is able to improve standard procedures to enhance diagnostic results when needed. What We're Looking For Associate's degree required; graduate of an approved program of Ultrasound/Sonography or equivalent. ARDMS Registered or, if new graduate, must be ARDMS eligible and pass a test in at least one area (e.g., Abdomen, OBGYN) including physics within one year of employment. State license to practice as a Sonographer. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be able to meet the requirements of the departmental on‑call policy.
