Registered Nurse - PreOp/PACU

Location Fredericksburg, TX

Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule Day shift: 0900-1730, 8 hours for 5 days per week, with flexibility required for on-call night shifts.

Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our PreOp/PACU unit. The ideal candidate will be an autonomous, flexible, and positive team player who has a strong background in PreOp and Phase II recovery. This position involves caring for patients undergoing various surgical procedures, managing their recovery in the PACU, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments in the PreOp and PACU settings.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and manage patient recovery.
• Assist with various surgical procedures and blood transfusions.
• Utilize medical equipment effectively, including GE monitors and IV pumps.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and communicate effectively with patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of Texas.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Experience in PreOp, PACU, or similar settings is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR system is a plus.
