Key Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient assessment data to determine diagnoses, care issues, and develop individualized care plans with targeted interventions and outcomes.
• Implement and coordinate care delivery, employing strategies to promote patient health and a safe environment, and evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to provide care in a safe, healing, and patient-centered environment.
• Provide health education and information directly to patients, families, and the treatment team; support continuity of care through active participation in discharge planning.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties among healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective unit operations.
• Support and assist with special procedures performed in the department including central lines, procedural sedations, lumbar punctures, paracentesis, bronchoscopies, and other advanced interventions.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor.
• Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM), TEAM-A, or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Prior experience in an acute care facility setting.
• Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Pyxis medication management systems.
