Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Position Maintenance Technician – Amsterdam, NY facility. Shift 1st Shift (Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm). Responsibilities Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Reports to a supervisor. Expects a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Requirements Ability to read, interpret, and understand general written instructions from documents such as work orders, parts orders, safety regulations, operating procedures, or other job‑specific written documents. Ability to speak and communicate effectively with fellow employees. Valid NYS driver’s license. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Additional Requirements Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand. Regularly required to remain in a stationary position. Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials. Frequently required to move inside the facility. Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry). Preferred Experience Experience in manufacturing. Some experience or exposure to electrical systems or machine maintenance. Education or training in electrical, mechanical, or related technical fields (a plus, but not required). Compensation The anticipated hourly range is $20 – $25, based on qualifications, experience, and location.
