4K Teacher

Description

The Lac du Flambeau School District is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and highly effective 4K Teacher who can create engaging classroom environments that challenge all students to high levels of learning and achievement. Essential qualities for this position include: the ability to develop rigorous and relevant learning experiences for all students, the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional learning community, and the ability to create culturally responsive classrooms through positive relationships with students, families, and community members. The successful candidate will possess effective classroom management skills.

This position requires strong background knowledge and/or experience in Multi-Level Systems of Support(RTI), Balanced Literacy and Math Approaches, technology integration, data-driven decision-making, and research based instructional practices emphasizing personalized learning, and knowledge of Wisconsin State Standards.

The Lac du Flambeau School District is a PK-8 District located in one building that serves approximately 500 students in the beautiful northwoods community of Lac du Flambeau located in Vilas County in Northern Wisconsin. The District includes the Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation and the Town of Lac du Flambeau. We are committed to maintaining relevant learning experiences for our students in the arts, academics, athletics, and numerous co-curricular activities. There are many wonderful natural resources within the District and the surrounding areas which provide for relevant integration into the curriculum. We are a leader in the innovative application of technology in the classroom. To support the technology integration efforts of our staff, the building is equipped with multiple computer labs, several mobile labs, as well as SmartBoards and computers in each classroom. Our technology initiative is one on one with each student having a District provided chromebook or iPad. We have just upgraded the wireless infrastructure in the building to provide strong wireless capacity throughout the entire building and handle any future plans for expanding the use of wireless technology.
