Must-Have: Required skills in Med/Surg, starting IVs, nasal cannula usage. Preferred skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, previous charge experience, experience with Cerner.

Description: Charge coverage may be needed based on operational needs, with training and resources provided. Candidates should be comfortable with charge nurse responsibilities. The unit is unable to accommodate specific holiday request time off. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital or to nearby facilities. Patients in the unit are typically observation patients held overnight for continued work-up. Common patient diagnoses include medical surgical conditions such as COVID, abdominal pain, respiratory distress, and other symptom-based issues requiring further evaluation. Interdisciplinary support includes various teams such as IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. Daily census in the unit is approximately 24 patients. Candidates must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient care and teamwork.
