IT Network Administrator

Responsibilities & Qualifications We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator with a strong foundation in Cisco technologies to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for provisioning, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our enterprise network environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of core routing and switching concepts, hand-on experience with Cisco IOS, and a passion for maintaining high network availability and performance. Responsibilities Configuration & Deployment: Set up, configure, and install Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points (APs) in alignment with company standards. Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor network performance, traffic, and alerts using network management tools to ensure maximum uptime and preemptive troubleshooting. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve localized and wide-area network performance and connectivity issues (LAN/WAN). Security & Compliance: Assist in implementing network security policies, managing Access Control Lists (ACLs), and applying regular firmware/IOS updates and security patches. Documentation: Maintain accurate topology diagrams, IP addressing schemas, configuration backups, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaboration: Work alongside senior network engineers on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and cloud connectivity initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 4 years of experience in a dedicated network administration or robust helpdesk/desktop support role with networking responsibilities. Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs. Experience configuring routing protocols (such as OSPF or EIGRP) and switching concepts (STP, EtherChannel). Familiarity with network security fundamentals (Firewalls, VPNs, NAT). Tools: Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Cisco DNA Center/Catalyst Center). Preferred Qualifications Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly preferred or actively being pursued. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting technical processes. Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support.
