Registered Nurse Endoscopy

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Endoscopy/Perioperative is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. This role focuses on pre-operative admissions, administering moderate sedation, patient recovery post-procedure, and peripheral IV insertion. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and quality care during endoscopy procedures. A minimum of three years' experience in perioperative or endoscopy nursing is required, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications. Responsibilities:

• Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients throughout procedures.
• Perform pre-operative admissions and post-operative recovery care.
• Insert peripheral IVs with proficiency and maintain IV lines as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient care and procedural details accurately using Cerner charting system.
• Float to other units within scope as required by facility needs.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in perioperative or endoscopy nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Proficiency in administering moderate sedation and peripheral IV insertion.
• Active Registered Nurse license for the state of practice (no pending licenses accepted).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system.

Special Considerations:

• No weekend or holiday call requirements.
• Mandatory floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice.
• Requested Time Off (RTO) limited to 5 days total, no more than 2 consecutive days, with restrictions around holidays and weekends.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 5:30pm.
• One day off per week with no block scheduling.
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
