Pharmacy Technician in Sandusky, OH

This opportunity is for a Pharmacy Technician supporting inpatient hospital pharmacy operations with a focus on sterile compounding and medication dispensing using Pyxis automation systems. The position offers a consistent schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off, working the night shift from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, typically Thursday through the following Thursday. This role is a contract-to-hire assignment, presenting a clear path to direct employment after 13 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and compound sterile medications according to established protocols
• Utilize Pyxis automation for medication dispensing and inventory management
• Enter medication orders into Meditech electronic health records system
• Collaborate with pharmacy and clinical staff to ensure patient medication safety and timely distribution
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and organizational pharmacy regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (e.g., PTCB)
• Proven inpatient pharmacy experience, particularly with sterile compounding
• Familiarity with Pyxis automation systems and Meditech order entry
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently during overnight shifts

Schedule:

• 7 days on, 7 days off
• Night shift, 9 PM - 7 AM
• Typically Thursday to Thursday schedule
