Program Operations Compliance Manager – Genentech The Program Operations Compliance Manager will be a key member of the Health‑Care Outreach (HCO) team, overseeing operational elements and compliance for external funding requests, Advisory Boards, fair market value (FMV) initiatives, and other business needs. The role blends regulatory knowledge with process improvement and technology implementation to ensure Genentech’s policies, guidelines, and applicable laws are consistently followed. Key Responsibilities Serve as business owner for Funding Operations and/or Advisory Board Operations systems, managing up to 80% of the workload on compliance review, approval, and processing of external funding requests using Genentech SOPs. Maintain awareness of state and federal laws governing interactions with healthcare professionals and adapt processes to changes in healthcare fraud, anti‑kickback statutes, and other regulations. Lead operational governance across Program Operations, providing ongoing guidance and customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with end‑users and technology teams to modernize workflows, implementing automation, AI, and other tools to eliminate bottlenecks and improve efficiency. Support additional operational areas such as monitoring, auditing, investigations, policy, training, iHCP, FMV, and transparency as needed. Participate in continuous professional development through formal education, hands‑on experience, or approved Genentech resources. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, law, public policy, marketing, business, education, finance/accounting, or a related discipline. 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, regulated industry, or management consulting. Healthcare Compliance Certification (obtained before or within 6 months of start date). Knowledge of funding‑related preventive and detective controls in the pharmaceutical industry (preferred). Experience advising on or developing key operational practices, processes, or procedures (preferred). In‑depth understanding of the bio/pharma industry’s compliance, legal, medical affairs, sales, and product marketing functions. Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment for healthcare compliance (e.g., anti‑kickback statutes, healthcare fraud & abuse, off‑label promotion, PhRMA Code). Experience in compliance disciplines such as privacy, healthcare auditing, monitoring, and transparency is a plus.
