Overview Department: Respiratory Therapy Employment Type: Per Diem (PD /PRN) Shift’s Available: Days Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am to 7:00pm Location: Providence Medical Center Kansas City, KS **If you are a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) you are encouraged to apply for this position! We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist ,internally referred to as ourRegistered Respiratory Therapist(RRT)or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).The Respiratory Therapist, also known as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II), plays a crucial role in the care and management of patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Theyassistpatients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions in achievingoptimalrespiratory function and improving their quality of life.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRNas needed. Responsibilities Willprovide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysisto assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently May bepart ofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety Qualifications State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required 2 years experience as an RCP preferred ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current NRP certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred High School Diploma or equivalent is required Full benefits at Prime Healthcare:
