Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. 1:3-4 patient ratios. Every other weekend required. Contract length minimum 13 weeks. Floating to sister ICCU unit as needed. No block scheduling.

Highlights:

• ICU step-down unit with 20 beds and an average daily census of 18 patients
• Complex patient population including post-rapid response, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, GI bleeds, and various post-operative surgical patients
• Strong critical care experience with vasoactive drips, arterial lines, conscious sedation, and advanced monitoring required
• Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Orientation provided with 24 hours hands-on training plus pre-start online modules

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
• Current North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Proven experience with arterial line management and titrating vasoactive drips (Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neosynephrine, Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene)
• Strong telemetry skills with ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias independently
• Experience with conscious sedation, IV starts, blood product administration, and central/PICC line management
• Proficiency with chest tubes, BIPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
