Job Title Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer Job Code 40214 Job Location Melbourne, FL Job Schedule 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Position Overview L3Harris, Mission Networks, is seeking a Sr Specialist Systems Engineer to join our team in support of various programs, IRADs and proposals by providing strong traditional Systems Engineering Development Life Cycle (SDLC) rigor through all phases of the project. This includes working closely with Software and Network Engineers to design and architect solutions, capture and document requirements, design artifacts, and presenting at various milestone gate reviews using L3Harris Technologies process. Essential Functions Conducts technical planning and analysis activities throughout all phases of the system development lifecycle, from concept through to delivery. Participates in program or IRAD gate reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, and TRR as well as product demonstrations to stakeholders. Assists with requirements management to include ability to review existing requirements and generate new requirements for a given feature, including participation or management of peer reviews. Reviews, generates, and modifies system design artifacts in MBSE model in Cameo Systems Modeler. Supports Agile processes to include daily standups, sprint reviews, PI planning, and demonstrations. Develops, maintains, and documents Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to clearly define and manage software and cloud subsystem interfaces. In concert with SI&T Leader reviews verification and validation procedures to ensure they meet all functional and performance requirements. Collaborates with cross‑disciplinary teams during design, implementation, and testing to ensure requirements traceability and system integrity. Possesses ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Public Trust security clearance. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills Experience supporting defense, intelligence, or aviation programs. Expert level knowledge in the use of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO or other applications leveraging SYSML. Experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS or JAMA. Experience using SysML‑based modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler. Experience with Agile processes (Epics, Stories, PIs, Sprints, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience generating system documentation and security packages.
