About the Role:

A growing litigation law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its St. Louis practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build a strong litigation career while receiving direct mentorship from experienced partners and gaining meaningful responsibility across a variety of matters.

The successful candidate will handle legal research and writing, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial participation while developing strong client relationships and practical litigation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery and assist with case preparation and litigation strategy.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide responsive, practical legal guidance.
• Assist partners with case strategy, legal analysis, and trial preparation.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, clients, experts, and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate case documentation and comply with firm policies and client requirements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through professionalism and exceptional service.
• Meet annual billable-hour requirements while maintaining quality, productivity, and timely client service.
• Participate in professional development and continuing legal education opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in both Missouri and Illinois.
• Prior litigation experience preferred.
• Familiarity with pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
• Strong ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, projects, and priorities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with legal teams.
• Strong client service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, judgment, and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.

• Recent associate bonuses have averaged approximately $4,270 per quarter, with quarterly averages ranging from approximately $2,660 to $6,360.
