LaSalle Network has partnered with a company that is a provider of specialized fund administration services for Managers and General Partners of private equity funds, specifically Buyout, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Fund-of-Funds. Our client has grown from 60 employees to 1000 employees in the past 10 years and expanded across the US as well as globally.

The Senior Fund Manager is responsible for managing and leading client fund engagements, with a particular focus on SBIC (Small Business Investment Company) funds. Working closely with the Engagement Director and client, the Senior Fund Manager will oversee fund accounting, capital account maintenance, financial statement preparation, investor reporting, audit and tax processes, and overall fund administration.

Direct SBIC fund experience is required for this position. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SBIC fund structures, SBA requirements, partnership accounting, investment accounting, and the operational complexities associated with SBIC funds.

Essential Functions

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day administration and accounting of SBIC funds
• Maintain frequent client contact to stay abreast of ongoing fund activities and transactions
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and effectively manage client expectations
• Supervise Fund Controllers, Associates, and other team members supporting client engagements
• Review fund accounting, capital account maintenance, allocations, and financial statement preparation
• Oversee quarterly and annual financial reporting and ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
• Supervise the audit and tax preparation process, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors
• Review communications to clients and their investors on an ongoing basis
• Support compliance with applicable SBA/SBIC reporting and regulatory requirements
• Oversee investment activity, including acquisitions, dispositions, income recognition, and portfolio company transactions
• Assist with fund-level cash management, capital calls, distributions, and other fund transactions
• Manage engagement staffing, utilization, deadlines, and overall engagement efficiency
• Identify opportunities to improve fund administration processes and client service
• Mentor and train junior staff members
• Assist with sourcing new clients, preparing proposals, and supporting business development initiatives
• Partner with Engagement Directors and senior leadership on complex client and fund matters

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required; Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related concentration preferred
• 5+ years of relevant fund accounting, fund administration, or private equity/private credit experience
• Direct, hands-on experience working with SBIC funds is REQUIRED
• Strong understanding of SBIC fund structures and SBA requirements
• Strong knowledge of partnership accounting and investment accounting
• Experience with financial statement preparation and review
• Experience overseeing fund audits and tax processes
• Experience managing or mentoring junior accounting/fund administration professionals
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred – top 20 firm
• Prior experience working directly with an SBIC fund manager, SBIC investment firm, or SBIC fund administrator
