Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with 2+ years of general diagnostic ultrasound experience for an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Acute care hospital located beachside with 266 staffed beds
• General diagnostic ultrasound studies including NICU head and first trimester OB scans
• Performs procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, and kidney/liver biopsies
• No full breast (mammo) scans, though limited axilla or breast scans may be performed on ED patients
• Focused vascular studies (e.g., lower extremity DVT rule-out) performed in the Vascular Lab, not by this role
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Rotating weekend and standby call required, Saturday and Sunday 1500-0700
• Uses Epic for charting and Philips ultrasound equipment with PACS

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in general ultrasound required
• BLS and ARDMS certification required (RDMS in AB, OB, or B)
• RDMS-BR certification preferred
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Familiarity with Trophon High Level Disinfection preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• Compact state license must be in hand at time of submission
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Performs a wide range of general ultrasound exams including abdominal, renal, small parts, and OB/GYN studies across adult, pediatric, ED, and NICU populations
• Standby call rotation required in addition to scheduled shifts
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, though local bill rate applies
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the same health system
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
