The 20% refers to the amount of time he plans to allocate per week for training/oversight of this resource. I think a recent/junior level grad with some experience could work. Please feel free to share any resumes.The greener the designer, the closer I'm going to get to that 20%. An ED II backfill ensures we bring someone on with experience in the industry and familiarity with at least one ECAD environment, if not Altium. They'll need help navigating our systems and processes, possibly learning a new ECAD tool but overall should be able to operate primarily on guidance from our EE/ME teams.A senior-level designer would be great but it has been challenging in the past to find a designer at that level with a specific focus on power electronics design. Most of the applicants I've seen over the years come from the digital/high speed design sector and have some difficulty transitioning to our specific needs for power electronics. My concern is that we'll pay a premium for a senior-level digital designer that can only operate as well, or possibly worse, than an ED II less set in their ways.
