Summer Timberlake Counselor - $400/week

Camp Arnold – Salvation Army Webster Road E, Eatonville, WA 983289662, USA Position Title Summer Timberlake Counselor (Seasonal, Exempt) Pay and Benefits Pay: $400 per week (room and board included) Benefits include paid holidays, vacation, sick time, medical/vision/dental insurance, retirement plans, parental leave, etc. Scope and Responsibilities Provide leadership and care for assigned campers, ensuring their safety, health, and program involvement in harmony with Camp Arnold goals. Attend and participate in all camp programs and spiritual activities. Maintain standards of cleanliness in personal grooming and living quarters. Assist with camp clean-up at the end of each session and summer finale. Assist with additional duties as needed. Specific Duties Safety and Supervision Supervise a group of 8–12 campers. Enforce camp policies and procedures. Maintain safety for staff and campers. Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards. Coordinate and implement program components according to daily schedule. Weekly Responsibilities Provide daily care and guidance through all program components for assigned camper group. Conduct initial cabin meeting on first day of each session; complete required paperwork. Supervise campers during meal times. Supervise daily cabin clean‑up. For Day Camp, use extra time on Mondays and Fridays for Christian Education opportunities; schedule debrief chapels Tuesday–Thursday. For overnight camp, conduct group devotions each evening before bedtime; spend time talking afterward. Accompany camper group to all planned camp activities. Complete required forms related to evaluation, health documentation. Enter daily notes in Camper Logbook; submit weekly for review. Attend Weekly Camp Out when assigned to overnight camp. Teach and model counseling techniques to junior counselors. Assist in conducting all program activities as needed. For Day Camp, remain available until curfew if needed; off‑duty after campfire typically. Day Camp staff duty until after dinner on Fridays. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone, desktop or laptop. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to access and produce information from a computer. Ability to understand written information.
