Rivas Coffee, Cocktails & Kitchen brings together Latin-inspired food, specialty coffee, and handcrafted cocktails in the Houston Heights. We’re looking for a dependable, organized cook who takes pride in preparing great food and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen.

Our ideal candidate understands that consistency matters—from preparation and portion sizes to presentation—and works well with a team during both preparation and busy service.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items consistently. Follow established recipes, portion sizes, cooking procedures, and presentation standards.
• Set your station up for success. Complete prep, organize ingredients, stock supplies, and communicate shortages before they affect service.
• Keep orders moving. Read tickets carefully, coordinate timing with other kitchen stations, and communicate clearly about special requests, allergies, and delays.
• Maintain food safety and cleanliness. Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, rotation, and temperature-control procedures. Keep workstations, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized.
• Take ownership of kitchen responsibilities. Minimize waste, handle equipment properly, complete opening and closing duties, and support teammates as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a cook or line cook in a restaurant preferred; breakfast, brunch, or Latin-inspired cooking experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with basic cooking techniques, knife handling, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
• The ability to balance speed with accuracy, follow recipes, and stay organized during busy service.
• Dependability, punctuality, clear communication, and a willingness to learn and receive feedback.
