Join our growing team as a Senior Network Engineer, supporting the NGA customer mission.ResponsibilitiesWhat you get to do every day:Support the customer's Data Center network, application delivery, and network security environments to include operations and maintenance (O&M), system integration/deployment and solution development/designProvide tier III SME level support within the incident management processWork independently with project stakeholders, system owners, project managers, and technical staff to deploy or enhance IT solutionsCoordinate with project staff for solution development and deployment while managing project aspects within applicable technical area of responsibility.Collaborate with system engineers across teams and disciplines to ensure solutions meet established technical goals and are deployed within established timelinesEvaluates new network technologies and makes recommendations to stakeholders regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing networkDevelops and implements methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networksDiagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective componentsSupport operations and maintain activities and administer networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurationsEnsure systems are integrated with existing performance and availability management frameworkSchedule and coordinate systems changes within the established change management frameworkEvaluate new system hardware and software to ensure optimal integration with existing hardware and compliance with customer standardsPrepare technical proposals for presentation to the engineering review boards for adding new technologies to the networkPerform a full range of upgrades in accordance with existing network architectureReview user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirementsPerform long term O&M activities to include tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolutionInterface with external tier 4 support staff and vendor support as required for problem resolutionUtilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situationsPrepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levelsDevelop and document standard operating procedures (SOP) for use by technical support staffProvide fault management for the network and supports performance management functionsQualificationsClearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI PolyEducation/Experience:Requires a Bachelor's degree or years of experience in lieu of the degreeRequired Skills:SME level understanding and experience with dynamic routing protocols to include OSPF and BGP.Professional or expert level certifications (at a minimum CCNP, F5-CTS or JNCIP) - CCIE/F5-CSE/JNCIE preferredSME level understanding of data center technologies. Familiarity with EVPN, VXLAN, Cisco vPC, ACI, F5 load balancing and RSTP is a plusExperience with Cisco, F5, Juniper and Palo Alto hardware and operating systems is a plusUnderstanding and experience analyzing TCP/UDP application flow using external network analyzers along with built-in network switch/router diagnostic toolsFamiliarity with DOD STIGs and SD-WANExperience with MS Visio and documenting network architectures and application flowsStrong oral and written communication skillsEffective at communicating technical ideas through presentations, documentation, meetingsLearn and evaluate new technologiesYou will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish so initiative, time management, and attention to detail are critical traits and skillsWhat is ideal?10+ years of experience with several years focusing specifically on data center networking and technologiesIntelligence Community Experience preferredWhat you can expect from usRecognizing great achievements do not go unnoticed by bcore through service anniversaries, spot awards, and employee referral bonusesYou'll join a growing organization of passionate, top-shelf, IT engineering professionals with extensive experience in actively developing the technology revolution in the Intelligence communityThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $122,000 - $147,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
