Maintenance Assistant 

Manahawkin Health and Rehabilitation Center – Manahawkin, NJ

Full-Time | Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care

Manahawkin Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for our residents and staff in Manahawkin, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will assist with repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility projects to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Maintenance Requirements

• Previous experience doing Maintenance preferably in healthcare

• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment

• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

• Good communication skills and a profession, courteous approach

• Knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

Maintenance Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility equipment and systems

• Respond to maintenance requests

• Perform inspections of facility systems and report any issues

• Help maintain facility grounds and upkeep outdoor areas

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work

• Assist in emergency situations such as power outage, or plumbing issues

• Ensure resident rooms, common areas, and staff areas are safe, functional and well maintained

• Assist with repairs and general building upkeep

• Work with the Maintenance Director to prepare rooms for new admissions and discharges

• Help ensure the facility complies with OSHA and other safety standards
