Development & Communications Specialist — Nonprofit Fundraising

AGENCY: Founded in 1978, Jewish Family Services of Greater Orlando, Inc. is a non-profit human services organization that provides services to individuals & families in crisis to enhance the quality of life across generations in Central Florida, regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, age, or ability. POSITION: JFS Orlando is seeking an experienced Development Associate to assist in the coordination of fundraising activities to meet the organization’s development and communication goals. This is a non-exempt, full-time position totaling 34 hours per week, with a benefits package ( vacation, medical, dental, vision, retirement ). Under the direction of, and reporting to the Director of Development, the successful candidate will provide administrative, marketing & logistical support for the Development Department and work cooperatively with other JFS Orlando staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage donor database and acknowledgement process, respond to donor inquiries, and generate donor reports as needed. Actively assist in the execution and management of all special campaigns, including but not limited to: Bi-Annual Mailings, Summer Giving Drive, and End of Year Appeal. Draft and design digital and written marketing communications within a variety of distribution channels, i.e., brochures, flyers, invitations, etc., to tell the organization’s story. Manage the organization’s social media presence and oversee updates to website content while monitoring branding to ensure consistency. Support the planning, execution, and logistics for fundraising events and efforts, agency promotion, and donor recognition activities. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree or higher in a relevant field with at least 2 years’ experience; non-profit agency preferred. Knowledge and experience using CRM software, Constant Contact, and Microsoft Office. Experience with AI technologies and DonorSnap software is highly preferred. Knowledge of and experience with social media tools, e.g., Facebook, Twitter, and blogging. Detail-oriented, flexible, able to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines. Event planning experience. Knowledge of the Jewish community of Central Florida and Jewish culture is beneficial.
