Perioperative RN

Job title: Perioperative Registered Nurse Location: Plano ASC Full-time or part-time: PRN Hiring manager: Donna Malone / Susan Thomas Job Responsibilities Welcome and prepare patients for surgical procedures while completing surgeon and anesthesia orders. Assuring appropriateness of patient to proceed with procedure. Reviewing and completing consent forms and documenting all care in electronic records. As OR nurse, complete surgeon’s orders, completing time-outs, acting as patient advocate and document all activities of the OR. As PACU nurse, complete all orders and assuring patient’s appropriateness for discharge. Ancillary duties include stocking supplies, patient phone calls, and chart audits. Light cleaning Job Requirements Current Texas RN license Current BLS/ACLS certification Critical Thinking: Working knowledge and experience in preop/PACU from hospital or ASC including direct patient care. Ability to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement care. Working Environment High-volume ophthalmic surgical environment with early morning start times. Frequent use of digital systems, monitors, and telephones. Exposure to clinical noise and occasional interruptions.
