Welder/Pipefitter
We are seeking a skilled welder/pipefitter to join our team at a steel fabrication facility. The candidate will engage in structural steel fitting and flux core welding, while also performing tack welding and pipe fitting duties.
Responsibilities
- Complete fitting duties at a steel fabricator.
- Perform structural steel fitting.
- Execute flux core and tack welding.
- Read a tape measure accurately to the 1/16th of an inch.
- Handle pipe fitting tasks.
- Lift materials weighing up to 50lbs.
Essential Skills
- 1-2 years of experience in structural steel fitting and pipefitting.
- Proficiency in flux core welding and tack welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tape measures.
- Familiarity with fabrication, fitting, and welding processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with stainless steel, sheet metal, and aluminum welding.
- Knowledge of MIG, TIG, and pulse MIG welding techniques.
- Competence in using hand tools and grinding equipment.
- Understanding of AWS standards and mechanical construction principles.

Work Environment
The position operates on a shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6am-4:30pm, Friday 5am-1pm, with occasional Saturdays from 5am-1pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
