Job Summary:

The Flatwork Feeder is responsible for feeding clean, semi-dry linens into the flatwork ironer while maintaining quality and efficiency standards in a high-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lift or pull linens (small and large) from the trough.
• Identify and straighten the feed edge, aligning corners for consistent feeding.
• Smooth and position linens on the feed table to avoid creases during ironing.
• Visually inspect linens for defects before feeding.
• Stage and prepare the next product for continuous workflow.
• Occasionally assist the catcher by folding and stacking finished products.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area.
• Report mechanical issues to Supervisor for repair or maintenance.
• Ensure product quality and meet daily production goals.
• Support other tasks within the department as needed.

Requirements & Essential Functions:

• Training period of 26 weeks to become proficient with machinery, quality standards, and department procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Use of gross motor and fine finger dexterity to handle linens.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 22 lbs.
• Frequent twisting, bending, squatting, walking, and some work at heights.
• Perform repetitive tasks with consistency.
• Support Supervisor in maintaining production control, safety standards, and quality processes.

Work Environment:

• Indoor plant setting: conditions may be hot and humid.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
