Direct Support Professional – Residential Group Home Program We are looking for a caring and motivated professional to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential group home. The role has a meaningful impact on residents’ daily lives. Schedule Mon – Thurs 1:15 pm – 11:15 pm, 40 hours per week Job Type Full‑time Description Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non‑profit organization supporting adult individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by providing Residential, Vocational, Recreation, and Day Support Services. Responsibilities Provide learning opportunities and support residents in achieving personal goals and daily skills. Transport residents to and from programs and activities. Administer medications and treatments, ensuring proper compliance and accurate documentation. Create and maintain a safe, nurturing environment that respects residents’ dignity, rights, and protects them from abuse or neglect. Record daily activities electronically, safeguarding confidentiality and complying with HIPAA and other policies. Obtain and maintain required certifications and training, both online and in person. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements High‑school diploma or equivalent. Minimum age 18. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. Physical Efforts Extended periods of standing, sitting, walking, and occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling. Ability to lift at least 25 pounds, push/pull varying weight (wheelchairs), and transfer up to approximately 35 pounds. Benefits Paid time off (increases with years of service).
