Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Yakima, Washington. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 15 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Level III Trauma Center, General Location. This 15-week contract offers an opportunity to provide critical care coverage in a high-acuity, high-volume Emergency Department. Candidates will deliver urgent medical services to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including trauma, stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and substance use disorder patients. Job Details Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC certifications are required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a large-volume Emergency Department with high acuity patients is necessary. Experience in trauma, triage, pediatric Emergency Medicine, Point of Care Labs, blood product administration, managing medication drips, and setting up chest tubes, arterial lines, and assisting with trauma and code cases is required. Must pass hospital triage test prior to triage duties. Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Responsibilities: Triage adult and pediatric patients, manage complex medical and trauma cases, perform clinical procedures such as blood administration, medication management, and assist with trauma and code situations. Experience with Epic electronic medical record system is required. Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Emergency Medicine experience, familiarity with Point of Care Labs, ability to set up chest tubes, arterial lines, and manage high-acuity patients. Float: Float rotation may be required. Additional Information: This facility is a Level III trauma center, the busiest Emergency Department in the state, with a patient census of 200-250 per day across various zones including fast track. Candidates should be flexible with weekend rotations, which occur every other week, with potential for back-to-back weekends.
