The role supports daily front‑office operations and ensures a patient‑oriented experience. Respond to all calls and schedule appointments and referrals accurately. Perform patient intake, entering accurate demographics and notes into the system. Scan insurance cards, verify eligibility, and identify benefits for each visit. Notify patients and providers of insurance coverage issues. Obtain prior authorizations with payers to ensure coverage of tests and procedures. Maintain an organized environment, prioritize work, and review entered data for completeness. Account for daily cash and payment entries, perform daily balancing, and create deposit functions. Act as liaison among patients, staff, and physicians, communicating effectively. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Previous medical clinic or general office experience preferred. Ability to understand insurance benefits and perform basic math. Knowledge of medical terminology. Understanding of HIPAA confidentiality and regulatory requirements. Typing speed of at least 40 WPM. Preferred Skills Excellent listening, speaking, and interpersonal skills; able to build trusting relationships with patients. Critical thinking to assess patient needs, prioritize tasks, and make informed decisions.
