Peer Support Specialist
Job Summary:
Mindset Mental Support is seeking a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide mutual support and guidance to individuals facing challenges, using your personal experience to offer emotional support, share resources, and facilitate recovery-oriented activities. If you have a strong commitment to wellness and a passion for empowering others, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges, using your personal experience to connect on a deeper level
Share resources and information to help individuals access necessary services and supports
Facilitate recovery-oriented activities, such as support groups and workshops, to foster a sense of community and connection
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
Document client interactions and progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records
Collaborate with licensed professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support
Requirements:
PEER SUPPORT CERTIFICATE REQUIRED
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Empathy and understanding of mental health challenges
Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client boundaries
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic record-keeping systems
