About the Position

Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 6, 8, 10, or 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in requested specialty License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI (TNCC preferred) Must-Have: Skills in arrhythmia monitoring, cardiac titratable drips knowledge, and basic nursing skills. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The role requires caring for a diverse patient population with varying medical needs. Common patient types include those with cardiac events, strokes, trauma, respiratory illnesses, and other medical-surgical conditions. Experience in telemetry and understanding of common diagnoses such as CHF, pneumonia, and acute kidney injury is essential. Nurses may float to different areas, including medical-surgical and critical care units, depending on staffing needs. The department values teamwork and encourages nurses to assist each other and respond promptly to patient needs. Support staff, including CNAs and respiratory therapists, are part of the care team. Candidates must demonstrate strong nursing skills and the ability to handle complex patient cases. Weekend rotations and holiday shifts are part of the job expectations.
