Home of Guiding Hands is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in residential homes throughout East County. If you're looking for meaningful work where you can make a real difference every day, we'd love to meet you.

These homes support individuals who may exhibit significant behavioral challenges. We are specifically seeking candidates with at least six months of paid experience providing behavioral support, implementing behavior plans, using de-escalation techniques, and working with individuals who display challenging behaviors. This is not an entry-level caregiving position.

Available schedules may include:

Many of our openings include multiple days off during the week, making them a great fit for candidates who want flexibility outside of a traditional Monday-Friday schedule.

Support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. Assist with daily living activities and personal care as needed. Implement behavior support plans and intervention strategies. Provide coaching, redirection, and emotional support. Encourage independence and community participation. Complete required documentation and communicate with team members. Help create a safe, respectful, and positive home environment.

Minimum six months of paid experience supporting individuals with behavioral challenges. Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities strongly preferred. Ability to remain calm and professional during escalated situations. Strong communication and documentation skills. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to treating every individual with dignity and respect. Ability to pass background screening and pre-employment requirements.
