Diesel Mechanic

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely Starting Pay: $27 to $36 per hour. More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level. We pay for ASE testing! Once you get your certs is .25 bump per T Series ASE. Shift: 2 Options 1) 5am-3pm M-F. Immediate overtime after 40hrs worked. 2) 2pm-12am M-F. Immediate overtime after 40hrs worked Benefits: -15 Days PTO -Quarterly Tool Allowance -Annual Boot Reimbursement -Overtime after 40hrs -Health benefits after 60 days -401K after 6 months Responsibilities: -Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks. -Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components. -Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably. -Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation. Requirements: *High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired. *Minimum of one (1) year experience as a diesel mechanic *Experience using diagnostic software a plus *Must be computer literate, have the ability to be trained on software systems and the willingness to learn. * Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: *Ability to communicate effectively with others. *Demonstrate ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records. *Ability to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English. *Ability to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job. *Possess physical ability to perform all aspects of job. #GFLTalent We thank you for your interest.
