Vice President, Program & Market Research (Hybrid & Remote Options Available)

Vice President, Program Research Lead the research initiatives that provide information and insight to the Programming Division and A+E management, supporting program development, strategic planning, network positioning, scheduling, and brand extension activities. Work Locations Flexible model: remote, hybrid or full‑time in‑office; office locations include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Stamford, CT. Eligible remote states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Responsibilities Act as strategic advisor to brand leaders and senior programming staff, voicing fact‑based insights and recommendations. Proactively design quantitative research to support and facilitate programming and strategy decisions in all areas. Provide rich viewership insights using audience‑tracking tools and evaluate digital metrics to enhance cross‑platform performance. Monitor regular network‑ and program‑performance reporting (daily overnights, monthly highlights, competitive reporting, cross‑platform performance, etc.). Forecast rating projections for upfront and scatter markets in collaboration with Ad Sales Research; audit pacing versus actuals throughout the year. Present network and series updates to senior management in weekly meetings. Make short‑ and long‑term program, schedule, and strategy recommendations based on solid research findings. Transform data into actionable information and communicate findings through written and physical presentations. Lead a team of four, overseeing ongoing requests, helping managers and analysts design projects, set deadlines, and manage internal expectations. Foster morale, create a team environment, and collaborate with the SVP of Programming Research on key strategic projects. What You’ll Learn Gain a deeper understanding of audience behavior, content performance, and the analytics tools that drive decision making across divisions and platforms. Basic Requirements At least 7 years’ experience in content research. At least 5 years of experience interpreting and synthesizing content data from standard industry sources (e.g., Nielsen). The Ideal Candidate Will Be A creative and strategic thinker with strong presentation skills and a passion for the business. A proven ability to deal effectively with senior management and a thorough understanding of the TV industry. Familiarity with digital analytics tools: Adobe Analytics, Freewheel, and/or ComScore. Basic data‑analysis programming skills in SQL, R, or Python. Experience with Tableau or other data‑visualization software. Compensation Annual pay range: $205,306–$240,207. Annual incentive target: 25% of base. Total compensation includes healthcare coverage, 401(k) matching, and other benefits.
