Job Opportunity

Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (10:30 AM - 8:30 PM); Day 4x10-Hour (12:30 PM - 10:30 PM)

This position is available for an immediate start on November 9. Open to accepting Registered Nurses (RNs) with experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). For PICU candidates, prior PACU experience is not required, and training will be provided to transition into the PACU role.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in a critical care setting.
• Manage airway, ventilators, extubation, pain control, and cardiac monitoring.
• Ensure effective fluid and electrolyte management, along with patient discharge instructions.
• Participate in standby/on-call shifts as required by department needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.

Requirements

• Current California RN license (or pending with ETA available).
• Minimum of 1 year of pediatric hospital experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of travel experience.
• National certifications: BLS/CPR (AHA), PALS (AHA).
• Critical care experience with skills in airway management and cardiac monitoring.
• Associate's degree in nursing required.

Unit Details

Patients will range from neonates to adolescents. The PACU unit consists of 38 beds with various care phases including:

• Pre-operative: 1:1 ratio
• PACU Phase I: 1:1 ratio with potential 1:2 after stabilization
• PACU Phase II: 1:2 or 1:3 ratio

Working Conditions

This role requires flexibility to work weekends with an expectation of call shifts, including:

• One call shift per weeknight.
• One call shift every other weekend as needed.
• One holiday call shift as required.
