POSITION SUMMARY
The Paralegal supports Cooper Steel's Legal Department by providing contract administration, legal document management, and operational support to Corporate Counsel. This role is responsible for coordinating contract workflows, maintaining accurate legal records, and assisting with drafting, reviewing, and processing legal documents.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft and distribute correspondence and general legal documents
- Organize and maintain both paper and electronic filing systems in accordance with legal and company standards
- Perform contract intake to Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system; including workflow creation and document tracking
- Coordinate execution of contracts and legal documents, including routing for review and signature via DocuSign
- Monitor, track, and report on key dates, deadlines, and contractual obligations to support compliance
- Assist Corporate Counsel with drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts and related documents
- Support policy updates, legal training logistics, and implementation of process improvement across the legal department
- Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Legal Department as needed
- Perform additional duties as may be assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma required. Additional education in Business, Law, Paralegal Studies or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative or paralegal role.
OTHER SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, Docusign and contract management software. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Excellent verbal and written communication, reading comprehension, interpersonal, and time-management skills. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent analytical, multitasking, and problem-solving capabilities. Strong initiative, flexibility, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, both independently and in a team setting.
