Position: Pediatric/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN

Schedule: 3x12 Nights (1900 - 0700)

This role involves working every other weekend. No call is required, but the candidate may be expected to float to provide cover in the NICU, PICU, or Pediatric units.

Location: Seattle, WA

Job Description:

We are seeking a Pediatric/Neonatal Transport RN to join our team focused on supporting ground transportation needs for infants and pediatric patients in the Seattle area. The primary responsibility will be to collaborate with a dedicated transportation team, including respiratory therapists and advanced practice providers, to safely transport patients from surrounding hospitals, emergency rooms, labor and delivery units, and NICUs to a facility that provides a higher level of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport infants and pediatric patients within the Seattle area.
• Work in coordination with the transport team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• May float to assist as a bedside nurse in NICU, PICU, or Pediatric units as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience in ground transportation is required.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Must hold certifications in BLS, NRP, and PALS.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a pediatric or neonatal critical care setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, specifically Epic.

Desired Skills:

• Proficiency in monitoring End-Tidal CO2.
• Knowledge of anti-seizure medication management.
• Experience with arterial line management and care of ventilated patients.
• Ability to perform central line blood draws and manage IV vasopressors.
• Familiarity with phlebotomy, urinary catheter insertion, and tracheostomy care.
• Skills in high-flow nasal cannula management and interpretation of arterial blood gases.

Patient Care Details:

• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Children, and Adolescents.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, physical therapy, phlebotomy, and social services.

Work Environment:

This role is crucial for the ground transport of high-acuity patients and involves external transport responsibilities. You will be a part of a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional care during transport.

Additional Information:

• Must request all time off or specific scheduling requests up-front.
• Traveling nurses may be expected to float between nearby facilities.
• The role includes the possibility of being provided communication devices by the employer to facilitate transportation duties.
