Director, Real World Evidence

This is an opportunity for a senior RWE scientist to step into a highly visible scientific leadership role and own the Real-World Evidence strategy for a complex, high-priority product or portfolio. Rather than being focused solely on study execution, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the evidence strategy from the ground up, working directly with Global Program Teams and senior stakeholders across Clinical Development, Regulatory, Medical, Market Access, and Commercial. You’ll have the scientific autonomy to lead complex RWE programs end-to-end — from identifying the right data sources and designing studies through execution, interpretation, regulatory engagement, publications, and external scientific representation. No direct reports — but significant scientific ownership, visibility, and influence. Own the RWE strategy for a high-priority global product/program. Work directly with senior cross-functional and global stakeholders and influence key development and business decisions. Lead sophisticated RWE studies using claims, EMR, registries, and federated data networks. Have visibility across the product lifecycle, including clinical development, regulatory strategy, Market Access, and commercial evidence generation. Represent the organization externally through regulatory interactions, conferences, publications, and industry collaborations. Help shape the future of RWE methodology, including opportunities involving AI/ML, NLP, and emerging data sources. Serve as a scientific mentor and recognized RWE subject-matter expert within the organization. Qualifications 8–10+ years of RWE experience within pharma, biotech, or a CRO. Master’s or PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, HEOR, Biostatistics, or related field. Deep experience designing and leading studies using secondary RWD — claims, EMR, registries, etc. Experience with platforms such as IQVIA, Optum, TriNetX, CPRD and/or OMOP/FHIR. Proven ability to independently develop and execute global RWE strategies. Strong understanding of drug development and cross-functional evidence generation. Experience with regulatory or payer submissions/interactions strongly preferred. Background in Oncology, Neurology, or Immunology is a plus. Publications, conference presentations, advisory work, or other RWE thought leadership highly valued. Additional experience with HTA, PROs, AI/ML/NLP, vendor management, and budget oversight is advantageous.
