Paid training for Nursing Assistant Certification is available. Job requirements include a high school education or equivalent and a minimum age of 16. No prior experience is needed as on-the-job training is provided. A current active CNA license or willingness to obtain one upon hire is required (paid training/certification available).

Bethesda Home of Aberdeen offers a flexible schedule with part-time day or evening shifts available in 5, 8, and 12-hour shifts. Every other weekend and holiday is required.

The primary purpose of this job is to provide routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents in accordance with their assessment and care plan, as directed by the nurse supervisor and in compliance with current regulations, policies, and guidelines.

Duties and responsibilities include performing assigned day-to-day nursing assistant functions, assisting in other areas as needed, participating in nursing reports, observing and reporting resident conditions, becoming familiar with resident daily needs, recording data on computer and other systems, maintaining a conducive environment for residents, performing direct resident cares, responding to call lights, keeping residents dry and clean, making and changing beds, cooperating with inter-departmental personnel, preparing residents for meals, assisting with feeding, serving food trays, keeping resident water pitchers clean and filled, performing after meal care, and checking rooms for food articles.

Pay starts at $15.40 uncertified, with wages dependent on experience and certification. Day positions are eligible for a sign-on bonus.
