Job Title Health Care Technician II (S) Agency North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division Murdoch Developmental Center About the Role The Health Care Technician II serves as a supervisory technician at Royall Cottage, Unit 3, reporting to the Unit Manager. The role monitors and supports Health Care Technician I staff, providing feedback and ensuring quality care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals with behavioral challenges and medical conditions. The position delivers specialized direct services, such as behavioral programming, habilitative training, and assistance with health care, personal care and daily living. Key Responsibilities Supervise and evaluate the performance of Health Care Technician I staff. Provide direct care and support to adults with intellectual developmental disabilities. Implement behavioral programming and habilitative training activities. Assist residents with health care, personal care and daily living activities. Record and report on resident progress and staff performance. Qualifications Experience working with multi‑handicapped individuals and knowledge of basic health care, hygiene and safety. Certification as Nurse Aide I or Nurse Aide II and, as applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). High school diploma or GED plus one year of related work experience or equivalent combination. Good standing with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry. Work Hours Second shift: 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., including holidays and every other weekend. Sign‑On Bonus Eligible for new permanent full‑time or full‑time part‑time employees who work 30‑40 hours per week. Eligibility is subject to budget and final determination.
