Sanitation Operator

Location: Turlock, CA - Full-time

Shift: Day - Salary Range: $17.78 to $23.00 per hour.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Sanitation worker is required to do this physical job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments. This job may include working at heights and in confined spaces. It may be noisy and dusty at times.

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Operate all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
• Clean up receiving pits
• Organizing audits
• Clean up kitchen, bathrooms, breakrooms, and control rooms.
• Maintain traffic lanes visible.
• Assess and clean up production building roofs
• Inspect safety equipment.
• Inspect vehicles
• Perform necessary recording and documenting of all (waste) during shift
• Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently and in a manner that assures accuracy and high quality
• Clean all areas of the facility, including warehouse, plant and grounds
• Use powered industrial equipment to do detailed cleaning throughout the mill
• Hazardous Waste Management: Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials in compliance with local regulations.
• Waste Collection: Collect and dispose of garbage and recyclables from residential and commercial areas using sanitation vehicles and equipment.
• Clean and power wash heavy equipment and trailers
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs as needed
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
• Follow Company prescribed safety rules and regulations as well as other departmental policies and procedures
• Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor at any time
• Work in a team environment to achieve the production goals of the company
• Read and follow all Standard Operating Procedures
• Promote teamwork and effective production throughout each shift
• Consistently be on site and ready to start on time
• Maintain professional standards of work

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Skills & Competencies:

• Methods and techniques for safe work practices

Minimum Job Requirements, Experience and Training Guidelines:

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
• One (1) to two (2) years' work experience in a warehouse/industrial/production environment
• Work varying shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime

Physical requirements:

• Frequent standing for long period of time
• Frequent bending, squatting and kneeling
• Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 75 pounds up to 100 feet
• Frequent grasping, holding and reaching
• Constant use of overall vision
• Frequent hearing and talking in person; may be required to wear ear protection or hear in noisy conditions
• Frequent co-worker contact; occasional working alone
• Frequent exposure to loud noise

Working conditions:

• Work may be performed inside or outside in hot and cool temperatures and a noisy environment. May be exposure to loud noises and steam exhaust, and dusty, muddy and slick environment. Adhere to all PPE Guidelines as established by OSHA and the company.
