Experienced Bookkeeper

DMLO is seeking a full-time Experienced Bookkeeper to join our Client Accounting Services (CAS) team in Jeffersonville, IN or Louisville, KY. This role is ideal for someone who loves challenging work, can manage multiple client files at once, and takes ownership of delivering accurate, timely financial information directly to clients.

As an Experienced Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:

• Full-charge bookkeeping for a portfolio of CAS clients across multiple industries
• Recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and keeping books current throughout the month
• Processing accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills, customer invoices, cash receipts, and payment runs
• Reconciling bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts and resolving discrepancies
• Performing month-end and quarter-end close for CAS clients, including journal entries, accruals, amortizations, and supporting schedules
• Preparing monthly reporting packages (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and management reports)
• Supporting tax and compliance needs such as 1099s, sales/use tax data, and year-end workpapers
• Leading clean-up and catch-up projects, including reclassifications and account clean-up
• Communicating proactively with clients regarding missing information, unusual transactions, and deadlines
• Identifying opportunities to streamline recurring work using automation tools and accounting platform features

Education, experience, and skills we are looking for:

• 4–6+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience, ideally in a public accounting or multi-client outsourced accounting/CAS environment
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and cloud-based accounting applications; experience with additional tools (bill pay, expense management, payroll platforms) is a plus
• Solid understanding of GAAP basics as they apply to small and mid-sized business bookkeeping, including accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload across multiple clients while consistently meeting deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence interacting with owners, controllers, and non-accounting stakeholders
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a mindset focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
